What To Do In A Time Of Storm

Hey Friends!

Wow!
Things are much different from just a month ago! We have never seen what is taking place in our country or the world before. Teri and I have been praying for you all that you would remain healthy, be at peace, and keep looking to Jesus as your anchor in the time of storm.

It’s Easter!
We are looking forward to worshipping with you all on Sunday morning. We wish we could be there to see you all in person – but for now we will use the technology God has given us so the message of hope can go out to everyone.

We encourage you to “invite your friends” to join with us (virtually) as we participate in our Easter service together. You can join us for our Celebration on Westside’s Facebook Page at 10am. There is a link on the front page of our website:  https://www.westsideinfo.com/

Stay Steady!
When tough times come we are often tempted to look at our circumstances rather than keeping our eyes on Jesus. Paul the great apostle said:

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Cor 15:58

“Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Heb 12:1b-2a

No matter how bad it gets, no matter how frightened, how lonely, how discouraged, how bored, how irritable, how frustrated we become: STAY STEADY!

Stay Simple!
Folks, there is so much distraction in our culture. I encourage you to keep your priorities in order. (If we forget what they are remember that His Kingdom comes first!) If we get this priority right . . . then out of that, we can be the best husband or wife, friend and neighbor, co-worker, or classmate.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Eph 5:15-16

I encourage you to use this time wisely.  I suggest that you leverage this time . . .

for you personally
     time with God
     reading
     projects
for your family
     read the Bible together
     pray together
     have meals together
learn how to talk to each other again
for your ministry
     STAY SIMPLE!

Stay Servant-hearted!
Jesus, as our example, chose to be a servant. Let’s do the same. Let’s use our gifts to serve others so God will get the glory.

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matt 20:28

God has given each of you a gift . . . use them well to serve one another . . . then everything you do will bring glory to God! 1 Peter 4:10-11

Too often we compare ourselves to others in the areas in which we are strong. Instead of judging others according to our gifts, let’s use our strengths to serve others. The result will be that people will give glory to God. STAY SERVANT-HEARTED!

And of course, that’s what we want . . . right?

Sure do love you guys . . .
Steve  🙂
