Pretty Much The Best Advice Ever!

How on earth can a Christian truly live for Jesus and count for the Kingdom if they get all their input from . . .

. . . the world? How can a believer really count, live a life that matters, and positively impact those in their sphere of influence?
Well, it’s not going to be by getting our advice from the latest and greatest magazine article, our favorite TV show, or the person of the month that everyone is currently raving about.

How then will we live like we should as children of God?

By living according to His Ways – not ours.

By living according to His Word – not ours.

Let’s explore how . . .

FIRST

:  “Psalm Chapter One” holds a key to our understanding in this regard:
Psalm 1:1-2
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2  But they delight in the law (Word) of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.

SECOND

:  Then, the Psalm continues with a powerful promise for those who do delight in God’s Word and Ways:
Psalm 1:3
They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

THIRD

:  Psalm One give a stern warning to those who choose NOT to follow God’s Word and Ways:
Psalm 1:4-5
But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5  They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.

FOURTH

:  The chapter concludes with a short “either/or” truth statement:
Psalm 1:6
For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

I urge you friends, to make reading AND meditating on God’s Word a top priority in your life!

Why not start today?

Love you guys,

Steve 🙂
