Excitement Ahead!!

I am excited and I don’t really know why.  I have this feeling of anticipation that I just can’t explain.  It’s kind of like when you were a kid and it was the morning you were going to go to Disneyland.  It wasn’t difficult to get up and get ready.  It was exciting!  “God is up to something.”  Also, I am excited about Westside Church . . . that is the people of Westside.  Westside is a terrific body of believers who really love God and are trying to truly love their families, friends, neighbors, and the world around them.

Someone might ask: “You mean everything is going great for you all?”  Not by any means.  Westsiders are just like anyone else.  They have struggles, setbacks, sickness, and serious situations too.  But most folks at Westside are looking to the Lord for strength, encouragement and comfort in times of difficulty.  They have discovered that God is good and loves them greatly.

What a great thing!  Our future doesn’t have to be dictated by our present circumstances.

Many people commit themselves to Christ at some point in their lives – and that’s an awesome foundation.  They find peace with God, what a great gift!  But, often times they never build on that foundation.  They might go years or even decades without building the life God intended for them.  They don’t realize that God has so much more for them!  What a tragedy!

God not only desires to save us,

but He also wants to give us an abundant life, full of joy,

even in the middle of the everyday struggles of life.

He has always wanted us to grow in Him and be true lights in our individual spheres of influence.  What I love about Westsiders is that most of them get it!  It’s easy to lead such a body of believers.

Sure, we haven’t sold the Bee Street property . . . it’s been seven years of trying.  Sure, things are tight financially – but God is in control!  We don’t need to be anxious about it.  (Diligent – yes, anxious – no)  He is leading us and He knows what He’s doing.  Sure, there are desperate situations among us, but we KNOW that God is good – He is always good.

That’s what makes it so easy to serve Him.

I am confident that the family and friends of Westside are truly endeavoring to serve God whole-heartedly.  He will always be there for us as we seek to put Him and His Kingdom first.

Thanks for listening.  I’d love to hear from many of you regarding some recently answered prayer . . .

Love you guys,

Steve 🙂

Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:1,26
