A Precious Privilege

Hey Westside,

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning with the dawn breaking over the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains and the cool summer sky is preparing to be warmed by the coming brilliant sunshine. I have just taken my regular seat in the center of the church building spending precious moments with God before the saints arrive to prepare for today’s services.

As I sit in His presence, I am excitedly anticipating what lies ahead this morning. We will hear a wonderful report from our returning Mexico Team and we will tearfully release and send a precious couple to the church plant in Denver. We will worship God together, encourage each other, share some smiles, hugs and enjoy a good conversation or two.

Most of the worship team is here now; adjusting their microphones and music while the smell of coffee fills the room. In the middle of all of this, I am increasingly aware of the goodness of God. I am overjoyed with His faithfulness and mercy. I am filled with contentment and a sense of safety in His steadfast care. I am absolutely and totally consumed with a deep and passionate love for my Creator, Savior, and Friend.

My prayer is that everyone who walks through these doors today (and at every gathering) will encounter this One who loves us so. And when we are filled, we can go and accomplish what He’s called us to do. What a precious privilege we have to share the love of God to those we know, love and interact with. I encourage you to live a life worthy of what Christ died for; to be a light in the darkness, and to spread the love of God in a world that has lost hope. This is what the world is looking for . . . authentic life, true freedom, and friendship with God.

I love you guys, stay the course!

In Him,
Steve

Lamentations 3:22-26
The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” 25 The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. 26 So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD.
