Grace Extenders

I was driving yesterday and made a left hand turn from a one-way street onto a two way street. The error I made was to slip into “international driving mode” and made a tight left which positioned me for driving in the wrong direction straight into oncoming traffic . . . eeek!

Since there was little traffic that was only going about ten miles per hour, I quickly adjusted and got over into the correct lane – I thought it was funny – Teri did not.

You know, life is a lot like that . . .

We often do stupid things and expect everyone else to instantly realize:
  • how wonderful we are,
  • and how we never blow it,
  • and what great intentions we have,
  • and how we really do have everything under control.

Question: Why is it that we always cut ourselves lots of slack, but we don’t give others the same consideration?

How about if we extend to EVERYONE
the same grace that we give to ourselves?

How about if we truly take to heart 1 Corinthians 13:7 when it says:

love “bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things”?

And, when we DO mess up (as in scaring the b’dickins out of Teri by driving in the wrong direction) why can’t we immediately apologize?

Hmmmm . . . think about it . . .

Let’s be grace extenders.

Love you Guys,

Steve

Grace to you.” (multiple references)
